At first glance, it could look like standard body horror, but inside Together exists a profound examination about the ways we decide to love one another.

Together is the debut feature-length film for filmmaker Michael Shanks. It showcases the real-life married couple Dave Franco and Alison Brie as Tim and Millie, a pair who are not married that have stayed together for a decade. In contrast, Tim's character experiences isolation and separated by Millie, who’s the impetus they’ve left the city and removed from his social circle. He dreads the concept of totally forfeiting his sense of self in his partner. This fear is intensified by the fact he does not operate a vehicle and relies on Millie for mobility.
The film's most intelligent aspect is that he avoids making one partner or the other the definite antagonist.
